Alex, I’m blessed to see you bringing silent nightmares into vivid reality. You will help the masses. I tell my testimony to many so that they can beware of the things that can happen in a flicker of time. I too attended the U of A …many moons ago. I had been at a frat house doing spinning margaritas. I started feeling sick and decided to go lay down. A friend of a friend came into the room and sexually assaulted me. I was so out of it that I could hardly respond to what had happened. After it was over…I got up put my chlothes on and stammered back to my dorm. I walked into my bathroom ..stripped off my chlothes and sat in the shower for what seemed like hours to get the disgust off of me. I lived like that for 4 years in hiding bc I didn’t know what people would think. Many said it happened bc I was drunk and put myself in that position. Others said that he was a big man on Campus and nobody would believe me. Many years went by with that lie. It wasn’t until I was in my 30’s that I sought counseling and was ministered healing. Forgiveness of my perpetrator was key for me and the understanding of what “really” had happened to me. Keep spreading the word. Keep informing your generation. Keep educating. Keep on being bold and vivid with your story. Many will be set free and find wholeness and others may never experience this bc of what you were willing to share. I’ll be praying for you.
